So_back, Mon Terroir
Terrior is commonly expressed in wine to describe the various environmental factors that affect farming and crop growth which ultimately provide unique character to the wine grapes.
If people had their own terroir, my terroir is So_back.
When I was young, I grew up near Sobaek Mountain in a hanok built by my grandfather, a carpenter. It was a time where each day started with a cold glass of water while taking in the mountain views.
Like many living in the country side, I yearned for the city. I eventually left my hometown for Seoul.
As time passed and I grew older, I would always subconsciously refer back to those calm mornings in front of Sobaek Mountain whenever I felt confined in the bustling city.
Repeating feelings of thirst and relief. It was this nostalgia that provided the refuge that I needed which led me to realize ‘So_back’. The realization that So_back is my terroir.
It was always comforting to go back home. Cherishing the time spend with my beloved family in Sobaek. Born in Sobaek and So_back I returned.
Through So_back, others will also feel, love, and relive the same nostalgia with their respective terroir.
With this brand, that contains my story and love for life and people, I hope to provide relief to those who grow weary of the city…
… like the endless peace that "So_back" gives me.

About NEO by So_back
Futuristic clothing designs reflecting Korean minimalism, NEO by So_back
If So_back represents Korea's past and present, NEO represents the future through a global lens. We use the Hanja characters (来) "come", (悟)"enlightment", and (思惟) “think” to present the clothes of those who realize the future.
NEO began with the discovery of pragmatic designs, avant-garde forms, and eco-friendly materials in daily hanbok worn during the Joseon Dynasty. A reinterpretation with a science fiction elements by modern designer Park Min-ah and tailored by Hong Sung-gil, the official tailor for President Nam Yeo's clothing for 18 years at Cheong Wa Dae. Korea's new and old from start to finish.
